One moment, Derek was seated, enjoying his plate of free food with gusto. The next, he was on the ground, his chair completely vanished. "That's not supposed to happen," he mumbled, getting up slowly. There seemed to be a general air of chaos in the room. As he began to take out his phone to text Ronnie, everything seemed to go dead. The lights, the music. Thankfully, his vampiric senses allowed him to see in the darkness.
"That's definitely not supposed to happen," the vampire declared loudly. He felt something brush over his feet and looked down. One of the waiters was hiding under the table. Derek ducked down to peek at him. "We should try to get everyone calmly to the exits." This statement was drowned out by a small mass of pandemonium near him.
