(Ficlet) - Different - Bijou (Onyx/Opal/Jet) - PG
Repost from the takoyaoi_love comm. :)

Title: Different
Author/Artist: White Aster
Rating: PG
Warnings: ...tentacles?
Word count: ~420
Summary: Jaiven isn't going to let tentacles get in the way of a good thing.
Prompt: Bijou, Onyx/Opal/Jet, "I don't know! He just came up from diving like that!"
All told, Jaiven had to applaud Kai for not freaking out over the whole tentacle thing. Because really, Jaiven had had enough trouble getting Xuen to come back to shore. The gods only knew what he would have done if Kai had freaked out. Probably gone to drown himself in the ocean or something.
Of course, what Kai DID do was stare a bit, blink, and then quirk an eyebrow at Jaiven, as if it was all HIS fault somehow. "What did you do to him?"
"What do you mean, what did I do to him? What, you think that this is some kind of special power that I've been hiding?" Jaiven waved an arm and then continued dragging the boat up above the tideline.
"Well, what happened to him? Xuen?" Kai waded out, the tide lapping at his knees, since Xuen was refusing to come any closer. Xuen, thankfully, was no longer trying to flee back into the ocean, just sort of...ok, not sitting, but resting half-submerged in the water, his lower half a nest of seething limbs. He was rocking back and forth a bit, muttering under his breath something that Jaiven was pretty sure was a Qijin prayer chant of some sort. Poor guy.
"I don't know!" Jaiven gave the boat a last shove and threw up his hands. "He just came up from diving like that! He said something about a huge oyster and the rest was all in Qijin, and then I had to dive in and tackle him to keep him from running away. Swimming away. Whatever." He waded back out, too, carefully avoiding stepping on any of Xuen's new...appendages. He knelt down behind Xuen and wrapped his arms around him. "Now will you please help me convince our boyfriend that we don't hate him?"
Kai was already trying to pull Xuen's hands away from his face. "Xuen? Xuen...come on, look at me, wo da?"
Xuen's expression was horrified. "I'm...baksa...MONSTER, Kai...."
"N-no, you're not!" Jaiven glared at Kai over Xuen's shoulder, and Kai firmed his voice. "Of course you're not. You're still Xuen, you're just...different now."
"No big deal, baby," Jaiven said, squirming a bit at the feel of Xuen's tentacles shifting restlessly around him, and not in discomfort, either. He stroked a hand over one of the larger tentacles, and was surprised how velvety-soft it was. It apparently liked the attention, wrapping itself around his wrist like a friendly snake. "You've just got more to love now, right?" He leaned in, kissing Xuen on the cheek. Xuen turned to look at him incredulously, saying something slightly hysterical in Qijin that might have been either "you're fucking crazy" or "the fish are green tonight". Jaiven just beamed and refused to relinquish his hold. Maybe he'd let go when Xuen calmed down enough to not be lapsing into Qijin. Maybe.
Because Xuen's tentacles had evidently decided that Jaiven's legs and torso were made for wrapping around and holding right there, and all that slithery strength was giving Jaiven ideas.
