RP: Checking on her other child
Characters: Ginny, Al
Time/Date: Monday afternoonish, October 31
Location: Her office
Warnings/Rating: None
Summary: Ginny wants to touch base with Al and make sure he's fine
Status: Private

It was almost strange, being back at school, but it had been an insane weekend. She'd never thought two days, forty-eight hours, could stretch into eternity like they had. It was still a blur to her. Rushing to Spinner's End with a healer because her baby girl had been injured ... and when she'd heard the extent of it, later - she hadn't seen when she'd arrived - she'd nearly been sick.

Her child had nearly died, and Ginny was still having trouble coming to terms with that. She'd wanted little more than to keep her at home while she was there, but it was ... better for her to be in school.

What time she hadn't spent with Lily had been spent passed out or talking to Harry, and she knew she owed Al a talk. She had sent him a note but they hadn't had a chance to meet before everything had gone to hell, so she was hoping he stopped in today.

Al hadn't managed to make it home over the weekend. He'd had orders to lay up in bed and sleep off his injuries. Al had been stricken thinking about how much worse LilyLu had it, and he desperately wanted to stay with her, but in the end exhaustion had made up Al's mind for him and he'd spent the days after the Hogsmeade trip sleeping in his dormitory.

Meeting up with his mum was one of Al's top priorities after checking to make sure LilyLu was safe and on the mend.

Al let Scor know where he was off to and slung his book bag over his should -- he'd stop in at the library if his mum wasn't in her office.

Nothing of note happened on his walk from the Slytherin common room. Al was grateful that he didn't even run into Peeves on his way; it was a quiet afternoon for once.

Likely, Al thought uneasily as he knocked on Ginny's office door, because of what had happened at Hogsmeade. Everyone was still reeling from the events.

"It's open," Ginny called quietly to the knock. She anticipated it was Al, and she smiled softly when that was confirmed. Moving around her desk, she crossed to him and wrapped her arms around him. "Sorry," she apologized. "For not being here this weekend. How are you doing?"

Ginny didn't favor any of her children over the others, and she trusted that they knew that. But Lily had almost died, and while she'd wanted to be with both of them, she'd stayed home - as much for Lily as for Harry.

Stepping back, she gestured Al to have a seat if she wanted. "I won't keep you too long," she promised him. "I just wanted to make sure you were all right. If there was anything you wanted or needed to talk about? How're things in your commons?"

Al hugged his mother back before sliding his bag off his shoulder and easing into the seat Ginny had indicated.

"I don't really have much going on today, so I'm in no rush," Al said, fidgeting with one of the buckles on his bag. "I don't have much to talk about, I guess..."

Everything seemed unimportant next to the concerns over the weekend. There were still niggling worries in the back of his mind, though. There always were. He was the worrier in the family, but some of these worries seemed like something he should talk about...

"Things in the commons are... all right."

Sort of. Aside from Sirius' brother sprinting out of rooms if he saw Riddle. And aside from Riddle himself with his charismatic personality.

Ginny quirked a brow slightly at the hesitations. "You know you can talk to me about anything, right? No matter how ridiculous it might seem to you?"

She settled down into her chair, gazing across the desk to him.

"How're you feeling? From this weekend, about this weekend. Have you been to see Lily yet?" She reasoned he had, but if he had any concerns - about her or himself, Ginny wanted those out in the open.
