Waiting for proper darkness had proved to be the hardest part. If he went too soon, he risked being caught by a late-night set of eyes peering out a window. Avery didn't think there'd be such a thing as too late, unless dawn started to peek while they were still out, and the early-birds caught sight of them.
He had intended to work alone, but he realized he could cover more ground with a partner. It had been easy enough to get in touch with Mulciber and have him along for the fun - after giving him very explicit instructions on placement and setting the timers.
Strolling casually between two buildings, Avery crouched down to stick one of the bombs to the side of the building, pulling some of the taller grass over it to obscure it from a casual glance. Not that anyone should be casually glancing between these buildings, but one never know.
He wished he'd be able to see it, when they went off. He'd hear it, but he couldn't risk being here. At least one of them had to be safe in case everything went horribly wrong. And since he lived in the area, he thought it best to keep his nose clean as possible. If he was caught on the scene, there'd be no weaseling his way out of blame this time. Sure, his luck had to run out sometime, but why tempt fate if he didn't have to?
Besides, everyone else had some idea of what they'd be doing. Avery's job was to hang back, be a concerned citizen, such as it was. He grinned a little as he strolled up to Honeydukes. Pressing the bomb to the back of the store, he made a placed noise as he hid it behind a few stones. Flying debris could only add to the fun.
He made sure that Bellatrix and the others would know where the bombs were. If one of the timers were off, he didn't want anyone on his side getting caught in any ill-timed explosions. After he'd finished, he started to wander back toward his cottage, trusting Mulciber to find his own way out.
