RP: It's playtime!
Characters: Bella, Rodolphus
Time/Date: After this
Location: Lestrange Hall
Warnings/Rating: Insanity. Idk.
Summary: Bella receives her ... present
Status: Private, ongoing

Bella drifted through the hall, pausing as she saw that some mail had been delivered. Smiling, she wandered over to the table, sorting away Rodolphus' and Beckett's letters. After her flood of owls, she was expecting a few responses. She wasn't sure what sort of responses, but she was expecting them all the same.

Picking up the one addressed to her, she unrolled the parchment. Her brow furrowed as she frowned and studied the crest. It took her a moment, but she put it together quick enough. A little smile played over her lips as she held the parchment and waited to see what scathing message he might have sent.

When nothing further appeared, Bella shook the paper before she slipped out her wand. Tapping the parchment, she murmured a quick series of charms in an attempt to reveal whatever message he'd written.

It occurred to her very belatedly he likely hadn't written anything at all. Which meant ...

She made a noise and dropped the parchment as she stared at her hands. Nothing ... save a slight tingling. Well, it was a tingling at first before it intensified into a burning sensation. She smirked before the corners of her eyes twitched in pain and she screeched. So she'd gotten to him then, and he clearly wanted to play.

Bellatrix watched as her fingers began to blister, and she called for Rodolphus. Surely he could find some way to halt this process, to undo it, to heal it. Taking her own wand, she attempted to clean off some of the residue before she flicked her wand in annoyance toward the paper, setting it alight.

Maybe she'd have to send a similar present to his little Mudblood. "Rodolphus!" she called again, turning away from the table to go find her husband and show him the games they were playing now.

If he'd felt a touch more like risking his life, Rodolphus would have kept his step slow. He didn't like to rush about his own home. But it was his dearest calling. And if she called, then something was either amiss or terribly delightful.

In case it wasn't the latter, Rodolphus allowed his wand to slip into his hand and a smirk to cross his lips before rounding the hallway and entering where he'd heard his name from.

"Might I help you, dearest?" he asked promptly, gaze flicking about the room to determine what might be going on.

"Snape wants to play," she said simply as she held out her burning, blistering hands for him to see. "I asked if he'd like to see her muddy blood, and he sent a response."

She nodded toward where the letter rested on the floor.

"I wouldn't touch if I were you," she cautioned him.

Regarding her own fingers, she frowned. Were they ... turning blue, beneath the blistered parts?

"Should we send him an invitation to play here?" Rodolphus wondered, waving his wand over the burns. The blue was curious, but knowing Snape it would take more than his skill to do much more about it than damage control.

A quick glance toward the letter made Rodolphus smirk. "Or was that his? Should we pay a visit? Play the honored guest card?"

He wouldn't mind finding Snape's home and lighting it up for the world to see. Bellatrix was a little inspiring. The old urge to duel anything that glanced askew at him was resurfacing.

Bellatrix snorted. "He won't come play. He's ... too Slytherin for that." No, anything sent to Snape would be destroyed or returned worse than she'd sent. He wasn't stupid. He'd spent entirely too much time being crafty and devious and traitorous to be stupid.

The only chink in his armor, the only way at all to get to him, was through his little Mudblood bitch. That had really only been a suspicion at first - albeit a very, very strong one - and his response was answer enough. Harassing her would incite reactions from him.

"I don't think a visit would accomplish anything," she decided as she lifted her hands to study them. She'd have to put something over the blisters that had burst already, but that was fine. She could make Beckett tend to her.

"But I'll send his little bitch a gift," she decided.

"What sort of gift would that be, m'dear?" Rodolphus twirled his wand slowly as he imagined what he'd like to do to get to Snape. He preferred the direct approach, but he would let Bellatrix have her fun.

It was the least he could do when she'd been the one dead for so long, wasn't it? He'd make a few plans of his own in private if he felt the need. Really, he was still of the mind set to sit back and watch others run the show. That'd change if things started moving in a certain direction, but he was an old man.

Harmless as could be. Until he felt like being otherwise.

"I haven't decided yet," she admitted. "Something ... something fitting," she decided. She had vague ideas of something cursed, sent directly to the silly Mudblood who surely wouldn't be smart enough to leave it alone.

She was inclined to play more, but Severus was a crafty playmate. It might be best to exhibit that she was serious, and continue playing from there. Get rid of his Mudblood bitch and then start searching for another chink in his armor after she'd broken him that way.

Gazing down at her sore fingers, she exhaled. "Does Beckett know how to patch up fingers? I shouldn't leave these untended."

"When her head's not in the clouds," Rodolphus answered, the corners of his lips turning toward a scowl at the thought. The girl was more spacey than usual now that Bellatrix was back.

If he could figure out what caused the girl's thin hold on sanity to loosen every five moments he'd put an end to it.

"Shall I send for her? She'll likely be of more use at this than I will even with her mumblings."

"Probably," she agreed after a moment. "Mind she doesn't touch the paper. That would be a shame," Bellatrix muttered with no sign of empathy what so ever. If Beckett was fool enough to pick up the paper (nevermind there wasn't exactly a warning label on it), then that was just too bad.

Bellatrix moved toward the sitting room; Beckett could tend to her there. She had to do a fair bit of thinking, after all, and she could do that while her fingers were being taken care of.

Rodolphus snapped his wand through the air with a muttered spell, summoning a piece of paper for the note to go on. He finished it quickly and sent it away. He was fairly certain Beckett would be back on the grounds by now and would receive it.

His task done, Rodolphus followed casually behind Bellatrix, his hands clasped loosely behind his back. He had no mind for sitting at the moment, so he stood near the door where he could see Beckett when she came in.

"Things are escalating slowly," he observed. "Blistered fingers and threatening notes. Tell me again when you're moving to the grand scale?"

Batting at Snape was fine. It was what Rodolphus preferred these days. But he was getting a little antsy for some dueling.

"It will probably be slow for a bit," she admitted. "I've got to outfox him, and he's ... Severus," she said with a soft sigh. "And I'm threatening to mar his favorite toy." She smirked slightly.

"But I will let you know," she said as she seated herself grandly. "Perhaps even let you come up with some ideas," she teased her husband playfully.

She wasn't sure she had anything grand in mind just yet. She supposed there'd probably be a few feints and misses before she lit upon a path that would truly work. He'd surely be guarding his prize possession most carefully from here on out, so she'd have to be clever.
