RP: Time for Crime
Characters: Sirius, open
Time/Date: After dinner, Sunday October 9
Location: Gryffindor Commons
Warnings/Rating: None
Summary: Sirius waits around for his best mates or any entertainment as he tries to plot out a masterful prank.
Status: Open, ongoing

It needed to be Something Big.

Something so grand and so well thought out that all of these pups claiming to be pranksters would go home with their tails between their legs, eager to join the nearest nunnery. And various other dog metaphors and analogies that Sirius honestly didn't have the concentration to spout off.

That sort of thing happened when he got antsy. So many ideas ran through his head that he couldn't nail down a single one of them. That's why he needed James and Remus around to fine tune everything, or Peter to be the idiot genius with the unexpectedly brilliant idea.

Peter, Peter, Peter.

Sirius was still hung up about that. He was convinced someone had gotten something wrong about that particular mate. Peter didn't have a conniving bone in his body. He was all hero worship. Which Sirius much enjoyed.

Stretching out, Sirius flopped on his back across the couch, not caring that it might invite people to sit on him if he wasn't careful.

Ideeeeeeas.He neeeeeeeeeded them.

Sirius lifted a hand half-heartedly, hoping to leech an idea out of the ceiling.

Lily would deny until her dying day that she'd spent the entire weekend being distracted by the foreign boys, talking to her cousins about the foreign boys, and avoiding her homework in favor of hanging around the foreign boys.

Unfortunately, that was all true, leaving her with a pile of homework to be done that night.

In the process of swapping out one subject's books for another, she quirked a brow as she caught sight of Sirius reaching up - though she couldn't see what he was reaching for.

Huh. "Summoning charms usually work better," she offered helpfully as she opened up her potions book. She wasn't doing so hot in the class and she was very, very tempted to just half-ass the essay ... but Professor Stirling would know, and she wasn't inclined to have any comments on her efforts.

"Not for best mates," Sirius replied forlornly. "They sort of make a fuss when they're banging into walls and rolling down staircases."

Sirius paused, considering how much he wanted to risk James' ire. He'd never actually tried to summon another person before. Short of yelling "Oi!" and expecting them to magically appear.

"Do summoning charms work on people?" Sirius wondered, slowly sitting up and reaching for his wand.

"Give it a go," she encouraged. "But I'm going to guess that that whole 'free will' thing would interfere with the summoning part."

She looked a little wicked. "Too bad you haven't got your map, hm? Then you could see where your mates were, and go find them." Yes, all right, so that was setting up something bad. He was surely bored and this would surely backfire on her.

Sirius had slumped back over in despair, writhing a little for effect. And then he froze. And listened. And realized that he really needed to get on stealing their map back from Prongs' spawn.

"Accio James' spawn," Sirius tried, flicking his wand appropriately.

He'd try turning her into a toadstool or something if it worked.

"Wouldn't that be my dad? Pretty sure we count as grand-spawn, really ... Though if my dad does come tumbling into the castle, I will have to go about praising your name far and wider than it has ever been praised."

She, of course, felt no compulsion at all to be summoned. Though she supposed if she'd been a little quicker with her thoughts, she could have flung heself onto Sirius and blamed the spell.

Ah well. There was always next time.

Spawn, grand-spawn... it was all the same to him. They were all little James clones with varying features and token personality adjustments. And a few of them were the wrong gender, but he wouldn't fault them. Genetics just hadn't been polite to them.

"He's on his way," Sirius decided with a nod. "It'll just take a bit with him being far away and the like."

Sirius counted on his fingers for a moment, then shrugged. "Give or take about five and a quarter hours. You can start working on your words of praise in the meanwhile."

"Right. I'll get right on that." Lily smirked faintly. "Can probably just reuse a few of the ones Jamie was so fond of when I had to beg my way out of things," she reflected. Which made her wonder what her brother was up to.

Lily decided that, most likely, she'd actually get more homework done elsewhere (and boy, did she actually need to get started on it), so she should probably head off to 'elsewhere', even if 'elsewhere' was really code for 'library'.

"You let me know if he pops in, yeah? Going to head to somewhere I can actually focus on my homework," she said.

"You'll be the first to know," Sirius assured, returning to his slouching and mental attempts to summon his best mates for entertainment.

"You go do that homework thing," he continued, adding in a shooing motion for good measure.

Maybe he would just take a nap. Or go have a crack at learning to break into private journal entries.
