Summary: Lily contemplates
Status: Complete

Well, accidents happened, even to the best of them. She honestly wasn't even sure what had caught her attention like that, but it had been enough to compromise her focus and land the heavy box of books she'd been levitating right onto her feet. Both of them, right across the top. She'd gotten the box back up, of course, but not before she'd felt her feet bruising.

She'd taken care of the pain while she'd been at the shop, repeatedly assuring Relic that she was fine, really, but the bruises remained. She wasn't particularly adept at removing them (though living in a house with James and occasionally Sirius, she thought she really should have been better at it).

Either way, once she'd come home from work and finished making dinner, she'd had a long bath before retreating down to the den to read a bit. Curled on the couch in a soft emerald robe, she studied her bruised feet, a faint smirk on her lips. They didn't hurt, not really, but there were two dark lines across the tops of her feet.

Picking up her book, Lily attempted to start reading but found herself more than a little distracted ... and it had nothing at all to do with the bruises on her feet.
