RP: An Itch to Scratch Characters: Walden Macnair Time/Date: Very early morning, Saturday Location: Diagon, Daily Prophet office Warnings/Rating: tl;dr Summary: Walden kills a wolf and leaves a warning for the weres Status: Complete
He hadn't set out with this in mind. A little spark had formed in his mind after reading the Prophet article about werewolves and it had slowly grown; so slowly that he wasn't completely sure when he had decided to go through with it.
The itch to watch something die had been building since he'd come back, but he wasn't brave or stupid enough to attempt to work for the Ministry again. For now, he was living off his vault and he was doing fine financially; he hadn't been executing animals for monetary gain, after all.
The few contacts he had made in his young life were long dead and it had taken him a couple weeks to find what he was looking for. Sometimes he idly wondered what other sorts of connections he'd made as an older man, but none of that mattered now. He wasn't in a hurry to alert too many people that he was once again among the living.
--------------------------------------------
Last night he'd held an axe in his hands as he stared down a wolf. The animal was chained securely to the ground. It wasn't a fair fight, but that had never bothered Walden. It wasn't the fight he was after, just the kill.
After cleanly taking off the wolf's head, he took it without protest from the man he'd paid to arrange this. One less body part for the other fellow to clean up, after all.

It was just after dawn and Diagon alley was quiet. Even so, Macnair was robed and hooded as he planted the wolf's head on a pike just outside the Daily Prophet office. Tied to its ear was a simple note and with that taken care of, he left the alley, entirely too amused with himself.
