Lily was amazingly, impossibly, exhausted already. It was just before noon and she was doing a last check of the guest room for anything she'd forgotten. No one else was home (that she was aware of, at any rate), but they knew her plans for the day.
She did plan to go check in on Lily Luna after she'd gotten settled into Sev's place, but there wasn't anything she could do for the girl; she could simply offer support to Harry and his family.
After scribbling (another) note for Harry to let him know to get in touch with her if he needed her for anything at all, she took one last look around the house. It was good to be getting out, she assured herself. Good to leave Harry and his family to their lives. She knew she was welcome, and she deeply appreciated that he was being so supportive, but she couldn't stay here. She was only planning on staying with Sev until she got on her feet and could support herself.
By then she hoped she'd be ready to move on and start dating. She really did intend to remarry and start again ... eventually. Years down the road - it hurt too much to think of trying now.
Deciding she was as ready as she was going to be, she snagged the paper bag from the kitchen that contained the lunch she'd made, as promised. Sandwiches and a salad and iced tea in a thermos. Perhaps the last was a bit silly, but ... well, she was a bit silly.
Looking around one more time, she whispered a goodbye to the house before she turned on a heel and apparated to a place along the lane where Severus lived. Settling her bags, shifting her grip on them, Lily began the walk to his house. Soon to be her house. Once she reached the door, she freed up a hand to knock ... though she supposed he probably already knew she was there.
