The race was intense (think the level of what just happened IRL, or possibly moreso), but Creed did in fact lose. There's been, obviously, even more talk about his parentage and how that was a key factor in his losing the votes that would have otherwise easily pushed him over the edge. The candidate to be sworn in has a much more hands-off approach to mutants (not hurting them, but not helping them/making benefits for them either), and Creed's PR person released a congratulatory statement to him, of course. Creed himself hasn't been seen. The Intruders did not assassinate him, although they were about to.
