SARI. (Saturday!)
Blessedly, October had left Amy the opening she wanted this weekend to spirit Sari away for a romantic getaway. She'd chosen the mountains, they'd managed to get a little cabin near Lake Louise in Alberta, known for its scenic beauty. And, as she'd mentioned to Irina, it felt right thematically given Sari had kissed her first in the mountains when they were breaking into a bobsled storage unit. Which, okay, wasn't her greatest moment ever, but it did go to show precisely how fond she was of the other woman even back then when they were only friends. Her fondess—her love—had only grown since then. It was true that Amy was a little hesitant to broach the subject of love given how spectacularly that ended with Elsa, but it was time. Past time, really, but time had flown and things had worked out so well. She could have said she loved Sari at any point, in passing, before bed, and it would have been honest, but the first time she said it she wanted to make sure it conveyed the full of her feelings.
So, here they were in, retired to the couch cuddling in the candlelight after a full day of hiking. They rarely got moments like this given the general state of Xavier's, and all the extra work Amy put in between team training and also really, really trying to make sure her FA class had all the support they needed. So these times were rare enough, and Amy savored them intently. She was turned enough to be facing Sari, having been talking to her about this and that, when she scooped Amy's hand into hers, lacing fingers through the other woman's, and squeezing them fondly. "This has been a great day," she murmured happily, leaning forward to press an eager kiss to Sari's lips. Though she had to pull herself back from letting the kiss linger too long or she wouldn't get out what she wanted to say before her other desires, her hormones, took over. Her thumb gently rubbed over the back of Sari's hand, and she looked at her girlfriend intently. Lovingly. It was probably obvious how Amy felt even before this, but now it would be officially. "I love you, Sari. With all my heart." There was nothing casual about it, not a slip of the tongue or any way it could be misconstrued as something less than the full meaning. No, it was obvious, she loved Sariandi Inalynn, and had for quite some time.
