He watched Ye for a few moments, his eyes searching the other's face. It was hard to tell what he was looking for, though. To see if the smile was real, maybe. Not in the sense that Ye might lie to him, Tae had a perhaps simple-minded surety that that would never happen. But maybe he was trying to put on a brave face for Tae. He could definitely understand that urge.
He paused. He had questions, but wasn't sure how to go about asking them, or in what order. "I just..." A hesitation. "You said you didn't fit with your family anymore. That you just wanted to be with me and Mirae. But you could have both, if you wanted." That sounded clumsy. "And if you do, I'll be there for you. With you, if you want. I just wanted you to know that."
