It was the single most important thing in his life, Kevin reasoned, beyond even some of the most horrific things from his past with his parents. Not that Laurie herself didn't count, she definitely did, but this felt that it would allow him to live his life, to give Laurie the life she deserved as well. She'd put up with too much on his account. Now this damned drug just had to work properly like it should.
"Anywhere," he echoed, though relaxing Laurie was correct that this topic never strayed far from his thoughts, and he sounded... upbeat about it, in awe. "Where should we go first?" And then — "where should we live?" Because they wouldn't have to stay here anymore, they could get a nice house or apartment anywhere, or a cottage somewhere remote, or anything. But that was only if it worked. "I swear if they build us up and then..." he left the thought unfinished, but it would be a crushing blow if this drug didn't pan out.
