His own experience with parties was, of course, much more mundane. No secret missions, unless you counted sneaking back into the dorms after curfew, or dodging the narcs. No elite upper galas to infiltrate, unless you meant sneaking into an upperclassman's event in a frat. And, honestly, Matty loved parties, the college ones had been better, but this was - that and then some. So yeah, Ji was a bit of a lifeline right now at least until he acclimatized to this new reality. Then, sure, he'd cut loose and have some fun.
Maybe the party with actual demons wasn't good to be his first one.
"No problem," he answered, a slight bit of relief that he didn't somehow put his foot in his mouth and find out she'd meant water, because she didn't drink alcohol. He also felt a bit underdressed compared to her, because wow, did she go all out - which is what Yana wanted, after all. His eyebrows raised at the weird glow even as he accepted the... snack. "Uhhhh is this going to give me tentacles or something?" No, it was probably oatmeal or something charmed with Yana's magic, Matty, don't be a wuss. So he ate it, taking a bite that cut it in two. He chewed, tried to discern what he was eating, and then swallowed. "Well it's... something. It's sweet, it didn't kill me, I'll give it a B+," he said, trying to flash Ji a reassuring smile. "Don't make me hand you one of those-" he gestured to another confection that was blinking. Parlor trick, right? Had to be. "I'm not drinking enough for this." He laughed, but took a sip from his own cup anyway. "Having a good time though?" Earnest question since Ji was taking this way more in stride than he was, apparently.
