Your head will collapse but nothing's in it. (Open to Sarah & AA!)
It was like a cursor had suddenly appeared on a black screen. Blinking at a slow-but-rhythmic pace, the only sign that there was some life in the processor. Nudging it didn't do anything, trying to enter anything with it didn't make any difference, but it was there. And then something else started working. Like code being written across a screen, stopping and starting, pausing for moments before picking back up, and steadily increasing in speed. It was growing exponentially, more and more sparking across his mindscape. Physical boot-up sequences. His brain restarting, waking up the different processes that required more than the basic functioning of his organs and the like.
It took awhile, close to an hour, but then his eyes slowly blinked open. The light in the medlabs felt too bright and they shut again quickly, but it was enough to wake him. Even waking was tiring though, and he lay there a little longer, resting from waking up. It worked for a little while, but the code kept writing and his mind kept sparking more, and eventually it started thinking. He couldn't fall back into sleep, tired as he felt, because now that his mind had started it didn't seem to have any ideas of stopping. He tried to open his eyes again -- more slowly, this time. The light still felt too strong for him, but he kept slowly opening them more and more. Where was he? He turned his head a bit, taking in the sterility of the place, but his brain was still too fuzzy to process it. He lifted a hand and it felt like the effort expended was far more than what it should have been; he reached up to touch his face, rubbing at it slightly, feeling a bit of a tug from the IV in his hand moving. But it was good, it helped to wake him more. He needed to be awake -- he needed to figure out where he was and what happened.
He saw a girl then, dark-haired, and although he was picking up on the fact that he was in a hospital and she wasn't a doctor or a nurse, she was sitting close enough to him that she must know something about anything. "Hey." Christ, his throat was dry. "Where am I?"(Open to Sarah/AA!)
