Their laughter was still ringing in his hears when she asked him to do something. From the way she was sitting (Miles really didn't need any more encouragement from her right then and there), an the serious cast on her face, he knew it was something substantial.
When Millicent's name was mentioned, he was about to protest. But then she spoke of the attack, and the men who had attacked Millicent. He could have denied everything, but it would be a lie.
"Yeah, I saw them," he admitted, swallowing down his distaste at what he'd seen that day. In all the things he'd been asked to do as a death eater, he'd never been asked to do anything like that to a woman. Merlin knew what he'd do if he was ever asked to brutally attack a woman. If anything, he suspected they weren't working to any official orders.
"Millicent did tell you what she did to one of them," he said. "He won't be doing anything of anything with his dick in a pile of ashes on the carpet."
But from the glint in her eye, he suspected that what she really wanted was for them to not be able to do anything at all - including breathing.
He was thoughtful for a moment. He would have no problems in rubbing them out, but then he wasn't in the mood for getting caught. "I'll need some time," was all he said, in way of agreement.
"Millicent means a lot to you," he said, more as a statement than as a question. He hated to think that because of Liam, he also needed her in his life too. He'd resigned himself to that fact, as much as he hated it.
