Summary: Kevin sees someone he shouldn't see... his (dead) sister
Kevin lay in bed, just trying to maintain. He hurt, the spots on his boy itched, his ears kept bleeding. He finally stopped throwing up, mainly because he couldn't eat anything. He just lay there, not worrying about himself... but about Megan. Yesterday, he'd overheard Anthony telling Heather that Megan was in a coma. He heard Heather turn frantic... but all he could do was cry softly.
Kevin's head tossed back and forth, unable to sleep though his eyes were closed. He stopped when he heard a faint voice. He listened to nothing for a moment, then heard it again. I must be going nuts... it can't be... Then heard it again, very clear and unmistakable. He opened his eyes... and gasped at who he saw. "Oh gods... Becca..." He just looked at her, looking just as he remembered her the last time he saw her. "I... I'm crazy. You can't be here. You're... "
"Dead?" the illusion asked. "Yes, I am, Kevin. But you need to see me right now." She looked sad. "You're hurting bad, aren't you?"
"Yes," he said with a sob. The tears ran freely. "I'm sorry... I'm sorry I didn't make it in time. If I had..."
She shook her head. "No no... none of that, Kev," she said, smiling, "I was a hot head that day, and things happened that couldn't be changed. It's not your fault... I don;t blame you one bit. I am glad you made up with Mum and Dad... that was terrible of both of you."
Kevin nodded. "I know. We're all too stubborn sometimes. But I'm glad... Romilda convinced me."
The illusion of Rebecca smiled. "Yes she did. I heard she died. But I haven't seen her... it's not like her to avoid me."
Kevin laughed. "Anthony told me he's seen her. Apparently, she's a ghost. Stayed here to look after her son."
The illusion huffed. "It figures. She always did have to try and do things that I wouldn't want to do." Then she lightened. "She has a son? Well... that's different. I suppose that's ok. But if you see her, you tell her I miss her."
"I will," he said with a smile, "I made sure she was buried next to you. I thought it was the right thing to do."
Rebecca laughed. "You always did think of me. Thank you, Kev." Her face turned serious. "But you need to stop thinking of me and get better. Those two that you love... yes, I know all about them. They're perfect for you, Kevin. Not sure what Mum and Dad would think of that, but no matter. You need to get better and look over your Megan. She's not well... but you being there will help her... and Anthony." She patted his head. "Please get better... for them... and for me..."
"I will, Becca." He smiled. "I miss you. So much." The illusion nodded then faded away. Kevin took a breath then felt sleep coming over him. He wasn't sure if he was crazy... but he hoped he would get over this soon. Becca's right... Megan and Anthony need me...
