RP: I hate being sick! Date: March 4, 2006 Characters: Cass Location: His flat Private/Public: Private Rating: PG Warnings: Sick!whiny!Cass Summary: Cass is sent home from work, and he isn't at all happy
He'd had a headache since Sunday. A low drumming pain that turned worse with every passing day – lately even every hour – and he'd long since realised it wasn't a hung-over. No matter how much he wanted it to be. The fever had started this morning, well possibly even last night because he'd slept poorly and woke up wet with sweat. And still he'd gone to work this morning.
It wasn't some odd sense of duty, or even a sense of obligation to cover from all those who'd fallen ill since last Thursday (it was alarmingly many already). No, Cass' first and primary reason to go to work was to keep boredom at bay. To have something to do other than lay on his sofa and stare at the ceiling. Which he was presently doing, since Percy had not only asked, but more or less ordered him to go home when realising he had a fever.
If he didn't know better he'd think it was Susan who'd told Percy, seeing how she'd tried to get him to stay at home already on the way home. Seriously, this had to be the first and only time those two ever agreed on anything. Apart for where he should be, as Percy thought he should go to his place rather than home.
If he'd been sicker he just might have, but in this case they were both wrong and sending him home was stupid. He could work. Well, mostly. As long as he didn't have to write or read anything as the headache kept creating odd spots in front of his eyes. Which was why he wasn't reading reports or books or doing much else than stare at the ceiling at the moment. Bored out of his mind. Fuck he hated being sick, and with every passing hour he seemed to find something else that was wrong. It hurt to bloody fucking move now, which really had to be because he wasn't doing anything other than thinking about being sick and hoping that either Susan or Percy would come and keep him company soon.
He did hope they wouldn't come at the same time, though. Somehow he had a feeling his head ache would only be worse if they did.
