"Okay, okay, I take it back," he told her, still snickering a bit. He did feel kind of bad, though. It was kind of mean. But he hadn't meant it seriously.
"Don't be mad at me, 'Vati. You know I'm just joking with you."
He refrained from giving her another puppy dog face (mainly because that was just predictable for him to do, and he like to remain unpredictable).
He brought his hands to her face and smushed her cheeks together, grinning a little at the fish face it made. He kissed her on her forehead and then pulled back again, but kept his hands on her face, playing with her cheeks a bit more.
"Ha, I feel like that aunt who pinches everyone's cheeks."
