OWL: Cass to Percy Date: January 13, 2006 Characters: Cass, Percy Location: Their homes Private/Public: Private Rating: G? Warnings: None Summary: Cass writes Percy about the benefit – and wonders why he hell he's writing him instead of talking to him
Cass stared down at the written parchment, rubbing his temples as he tried to make sense of why he had just spent time on writing a letter to a man he'd see tomorrow at work anyway.
Or could see. If he took the initiative. Again.
Groaning he got up from his chair, pacing the room. What the hell was wrong with him? Why could he all of a sudden not be who he always was? Why did he suddenly feel insecure around Percy? He shouldn't. Percy liked him, he knew he liked him – only he liked him too much and that in itself was scary. Though not so scary as the fact that he wasn't nearly as freaked out as he ought to be.
Last time someone had mentioned a relationship to him had been shortly after New Years in 2004 with one of the Muggle women his mother had tried to set him up with that autumn. Even after weeks of more or less non-stop sex over Christmas (a follow up on nearly weekly shags since August), he'd had no hesitation to break things off, walk away and never turn back. The mere thought had freaked him out. The fact that the girl had left town and that her parents had suddenly stopped talking to his mother had actually been a benefit that made it all the easier.
Not once, ever, had he reacted well to the mention of relationship. He'd run, freak out, tell the girl she was delusional (that one hadn't worked out very well)…and yet the only thing he could think of with Percy was that he wanted more of him. Fucking hell, what was going on?
He looked at the parchment in front of him again, almost scrapping it. He would go see Percy tomorrow. Be a friend, a co-worker, flirt like usual but not push. Percy accepted that he wasn't willing to give more, he just had to live with the fact that Percy couldn't give more either. Yet. He'd get over the relationship thing and they could have sex like normal friends. Or maybe not.
Sighing he folded the letter and handed it to the owl. It was easier this way. And Percy had asked for news as soon as possible. Besides, Cass was seeing Natalie again tomorrow anyway. He didn't need to be more confused than he already was then, she was confused enough for the both of them.

Percy,
I talked to Pansy and she has agreed to do it and has no problem with arranging it to Valentines day. She's already secured the location with Draco Malfoy, who will lend it to us for the evening and supply the drinks as part of his donation. Pansy's Inn will handle the food as part of her donation.
I've been given the task to find out who the blonde girl singing "with a hairy Ravenclaw" at the Russian wedding was and ask her if she'd be willing to sing. Since you were there you might know who she was talking about? Also would you know who the "charms-guy" up at Hogwarts is? I'm assuming she means the professor. Terry Boot, is that his name? I need to get in contact with him too.
So far we've covered food, drinks, locations, we're still discussing invitations and announcement, and we have yet to arrange for security but seeing how many of the Aurors works extra at Escapism already they should know the place well.
Let me know if there is anything else you need from me.
