Terry grinned shyly, and shrugged, but knew his happiness was evident on his face, unable to be squashed even at a time like this. He should feel worse about that, he thought. "You're good for more than that, you know," he said. "Just not for me. Well, as anything more than a friend, anyway. I'm glad one of us knew that."
He was glad to see Seamus laugh, and was pleased that he'd been able to bring it on. "They're all cheeky monkeys at that stage," he said. "And it's your own fault, for playing with her to begin with." He grinned. "And is it any wonder the kids love you, when you're nothing but a large child yourself?"
