"We did. How dare they think any less." He was still smirking.
She honestly didn't believe him, and he bit his lips to hold in his own smirk, as her laughter was infectious. "What possessed me? Would you believe I just wanted to be your comic relief?"
"I thought that's what you always said about marriage?" He leaned forward in his chair, all four legs touching the ground as he took the contract back from her. "Don't worry, we're in the process of getting it annulled." As he tried to pull some of the papers out from under her bottom, he chuckled.
"Actually, it was four bottles of Fire Vodka, and a crazy Russian who apparently thought we'd go away and stop bothering him if he did the deed." Even he was seeing the funny side of it.
"I'm sure Daphne won't mind. We weren't drunk enough to agree to fidelity."
