He felt the wards shift and knew that Lucius Malfoy had arrived. Calling Ficus to let him know to lead Mr Malfoy down to the drawing room as he stood up himself.
When the man came in, Montague moved smoothly to him to shake his hand, a cordial even look on his face. "Mr Malfoy, please." He gestured towards one of the chairs. "The elves can get you something if you'd like," Montague said, gesturing easily at the other elf in the room, before taking his own seat.
"I apologize for Verity and Marlowe not being present; she keeps him on a rather strict timetable with his studies, and I believe," he raised his wrist, the sleeve of his robe moved back slightly to look at his watch, "they are working on mathematics right now." He gave Lucius a small, almost faint, proud smile.
"They may be down later to say hello." He hoped not, he sincerely hoped that Lucius would be gone by then.
