Daphne was surprised when Liam laid his head against her shoulder, his arms linked around her neck. She smiled softly, amazed. She wondered if he really did like her as much as he acted, or if he just really wanted a new Mum. She secretly hoped it was both, although she still couldn't understand why she was so attached to a boy that wasn't hers.
"I, um," she looked down at the boy before looking back over at Millicent. Why was it always children that got her tongue in a knot? "Yes, it's rather late and I think we could all use some shut eye."
