Miles looked up at Rodolphus, hoping to hell he wasn't going to get caught out for not completing any task, and nodded.
When he heard that he had a new task, he seemed just a little surprised. More work. He had enough to do already, and was about to protest. He decided to keep his mouth shut and just read the spell out. He looked at the parchment, seeing the spell and the associated wand movement.
He was about to protest and say that he had already declined to attend the benefit, but he knew that option was no longer available to him. He looked at the spell again. "Is there anything else you need me to do, sir?" he asked, knowing better than to actually question why he had to do this in the first place. "I'll ahh, probably have to take my wife, if I am going to the ball." Merlin, he really didn't want to have to do that, and winced at the thought. But no doubt Daphne would kick up a fuss if he was to go alone. Fuck. Perhaps he'd just forget to tell her - leave Liam with her for the night, or something.
Which lead him to realise that perhaps he'd need to think of a few dozen spells to cast on his wand afterwards, just in case anyone was checking what he'd been up to. Damn.
