Pansy laughed. ‘Good point,’ she acknowledged. ‘And, apparently, it works, too!’ she admitted. She gave him a slightly sheepish smile.
She really had planned to be mad at him. But he couldn’t have known. Harry, on the other hand, should have known, and being a blind idiot who couldn’t find his nose on his own face was no excuse! How the boy had ever become such a good Seeker, she’d never know!
Jack put out a hand to help her regain her balance and she smiled gratefully. The Superhero really shouldn’t have done anything to the floor. How were people supposed to dance on a floor that rolled underfoot?
Pansy made a face. ‘It wouldn’t work,’ she sighed. ‘Number one, he wouldn’t even notice because he doesn’t want anyone to know he even knows me so he completely ignores me in public. And number two, he could probably care less….’ she pouted.
She sighed again. ‘And if I were smart, I’d devote my energy to someone who was interested and wouldn’t require so much effort, and I’ve already told myself that over and over but it just isn’t working!’ she complained.
