Daphne simply listened as Cass discussed Rosmerta's case. It was all very technical, and she'd never cared much about whatever it was the Auror's did. They never seemed to catch anyone anyway, and by the sounds of it, Cass was perhaps the only one who knew what he was doing. No wonder they were having a benefit to raise money.
"Darling, with a face like yours, I would be upset with you if you were complaining," she joked, leaning her head against Miles' shoulder before he went off to fetch their drinks.
When Miles was out of earshot, Daphne smiled brightly back at Cass. "Come now, you know you're fabulous. You don't need me to tell you that," she said, pressing her lips together. "But trust me, I'm really not complaining. I almost wanted to be later to the benefit than I already was," she added with a wink.
