Parvati leaned against George, trying to ignore the turmoil caused by her disagreement with Theo. She had been so looking forward to the ball, and she was not going to let him ruin it for her.
Or Rodolphus Lestrange. Although just the thought of him added to the turmoil in her mind. She knew the awful things he'd done, but it just didn't match up to the man she'd spent Christmas holiday with, nor the one that had been so supportive to Theo through everything that had happened with Narayana.
Vati knew she was being naive. But if she was being naive about Rodolphus, wasn't she also being naive about Theo? And how much did Padma know? She'd not brought anything up to her sister, given her health and the stress she was under.
Smoothing nonexistent wrinkles from her red gown, Parvati smiled at George, again trying to put everything out of her mind so she could enjoy the evening.
And yet....shouldn't she tell him? Tell him what, she wasn't sure. It was all so much innuendo and obscure possibilities....what would she say?
And how did she tell George she had spent Christmas holiday with the most notorious wizard in Britain? Without him blowing up and turning his back on her, of course.....
