Jack gave an easy smile as he picked up a glass of wine and Severus was inwardly amused to see Harry gravitate to a 'safe' person so quickly.
"Been busy," he said brightly. "You know, there's always things to do, people to see..." he paused and gave a wicked grin. "People to do."
"Looks like a lot of interesting people," he said as his gaze surveyed the crowd. "Might have to circulate and have a chat, see what's going on in the world of gossip."
He hoped that would be enough to key Harry in that he had a purpose for being here. There were too many people around for easy conversation and a privacy ward would gain too much notice.
As they spoke, one of the little cupid shot off an painless arrow that hit Harry square in the middle of the chest. Severus eyed it with open amusement.
"I have a sneaking suspicion that if I don't do something, that arrow is going to do something embarassingly Valentine-ish," he said with a wicked grin. He then leaned forward and kissed Harry before plucking the arrow loose and watching it dissolve into nothing. "Very interesting."
