For some reason, all of Millicent's yelling couldn't make this day any worse than it already was.
He simply held up a finger to stop her whining, and gave her a look. "Firstly, I doubt severely that my son or your daughter read the contents of that contract clearly, and you couldn't simply have told them it was just grown ups business, could you?" He knew his son couldn't read that.
"You could have just said that, and now thanks to you, yes, we're going to have to deal with one more mess. Well done, Millicent, well done. Now Liam is going to go around and tell the whole town and his dog, whilst we were going to try and sort it out quietly." And she thought he was stupid!
He didn't fail to notice the way her tone went from nasty to nice when she spoke back to Daphne. "Sorry Daphne, Millicent and I are just having one of our usual discussions."
