Susan busied herself with the tea as he rolled her eyes at what Rosmerta used to get up to. "Why do I not find that surprising?" She shook her head at it.
"Is it any wonder she turned the rooms upstairs into a brothel?" Still, that was closed for now, as was the pub. "Bletchley seemed surprised when he found out that Rosmerta's will left everything to his son. It was a genuine surprise, so the whole idea of his motivation suddenly just fell through the floor."
Something he said about Rosmerta clicked in the back of her head. "She didn't look over thirty, did she? She must have had some pretty good glamours."
Susan poured a mug of tea handing one to Cass, happy at least that he had brought the paperwork home for her about the case. She would have gone spare at the thought of nothing to do all week. "So how's the place coping without us? Percy really knows how to handle staff shortages, doesn't he?" She shook her head as she sipped her own tea.
"What other gossip don't I know," she asked, eager to stay on top of things.
