"They're shape shifters, like me, actually. But they change into whatever you fear most when they're put in front of you. It's an easy spell to get rid of them, but a lot of students just get shell-shocked at first, or at least that's what Remus told me-- my boyfr-- fiancee," she explained as she fished through her purse for the appropriate amount of money to cover the immense amount of sugar she'd just purchased.
"You've never run into one? Consider yourself lucky." Dora shuddered slightly. She wasn't particularly looking forward to the boggart day in class. Her boggart tended to jump between one of three things so she never was sure what to expect and it was hard to say which she preferred when choosing between seeing her mother dead or Remus.
"There was a time when not all students at Hogwarts were able to cover boggarts... some professors were more about theory than practical application, but I think you've got to get used to them early."
