He knew the moment Terry spoke up that it was the wrong tactic, the wrong words. Adrian wouldn't care if the world went straight to hell if it meant they were safe. He also knew that Lestrange could do a lot more than Terry could imagine.
Stephen took Adrian's hand and leaned for a kiss. "I'm not doing it to save the world. I don't honestly fucking care. I was pretty happy with letting people kill each other, you know that. This isn't about ideals, baby. This is about our family and William's. It's the only way we can have a normal life." It wasn't difficult to find the words, because it was true. In the end, he was selfish; he'd leave the ideals for Gryffindors and Hufflepuffs.
"I'll speak to Snape. If we'll end up doing this, we'll need to work together." He looked at Adrian. "I know the two of us can't go alone. We'd end up fighting or fucking, but if you want to come as well, then I don't think it's so horrible."
Stephen's head snapped up, and he was ready to kiss Terry, big, wet kiss. "Now that's a brilliant idea, as long as you don't say what. I'm sorry but I trust that office as much as I trust Lestrange. You never know where the information will end up."
