'She's a bit touchy about not remembering, Susan,' he said with a smile. 'Surely you can understand feeling helpless and useless when something important is on the line? She even asked me to use Veritaserum on Miles to prove he's telling the truth. She's just upset, when she's upset she lashes out.' He smiled. 'And yet she's never threatened to castrate me once so far,' he said with a wink.
He sighed and nodded when she told him the evidence. 'You were right to ask, you were completely wrong to bring Hunt with you.' He smiled. 'This is Miles we're talking about - Cho, Angelina, I would normally say Ginny but they can't stand each other - but in short, the general rule to questioning Miles, bring a girl who can flirt.'
He could see the effect this was having on her, and wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close, his chin resting on the top of her head. 'It will be all right, Susan,' he said softly. 'I'll help if you need it, even if it just means someone to bounce ideas off. Pulling back just a little, he smiled at her and tilted her head up.
'Relax, you'll solve this one. You just need to look deeper, beyond the obvious.' He would have kissed her, but Miles was looking at them, so he figured this wasn't the time. Instead he kissed her forehead.
