Daphne was just about to tuck into bed when she heard the sound of wings beating against her window. Grumbling to herself, she moved to open it and let the rather unattractive creature inside, grabbing the parchment tied around its leg and sending it on its way as quickly as possible. Who the hell would be owling her at this hour of the night?
Her eyes scanned the letter before she rubbed her eyes and read it a bit closer, making sure she understood.
He hadn't come out and said it, but this basically meant that Miles was in prison, and he wasn't sure when he was getting out. Why the hell was Miles in prison??? And why the hell was he telling her first?
Sure, it was nice of him to warn her that he might have to blow her off, but didn't he have other things to worry about? Did this mean that he was leaving Liam as her responsibility? Or that she was just supposed to go check on him?
Daphne groaned as she sat down on her bed. There was nothing she could do at this hour, and she had things to do tomorrow now. Good thing she had prepared for her trip ahead of time- now she could spend the day checking on this new situation, and still be able to be whisked away when (if?) Miles got released by the Aurors.
Why did boys need to make everything more difficult for her?
