'Don't blame him,' Pansy said quickly. 'He got caught off-guard and was trying to do what he thought might protect me,' she added. 'Intrigue doesn't come second nature to him....' She looked up and winked at Harry, smiling. He'd been trying to do what he thought she'd want, she'd decided.
Cass forced her to look up at him, and she blinked guiltily. She could have admitted it was pretty much all on him, at this point, but she didn't want to embarrass him for some reason. 'Now, darling,' she said gallantly, 'how is he supposed to even notice me when he has you to keep him distracted?'
Silently, she pleaded with him not to push the matter too hard. She didn't want just a quick, casual shag....that was the problem. If that was all she wanted, she might just march into his room naked and lock the door....
Squeezing Cass's hand gratefully, she said, 'I know you would. But you have to be gone on Auror business so much,' she pointed out. 'And I was afraid living around a baby would make you a little...uncomfortable....' she smirked.
