Cass had been working all day, in spite of it being a Sunday, and wasn't at all happy about it. Not that he minded work so much - when it was actually doing something - but the added case-load as Susan and Cho handled Rosmerta's murder was undoubtedly making work a lot harder. And boring. He had almost started to wonder if Susan really did get all the crappy cases.
As he got off work, however, he did know that there was one thing he couldn't push forwards. Invitations to the benefit. He'd left Pansy in charge of it, but he needed to see what progress she'd made and if she needed help, so immediately after work (and after changing robes) he grabbed his broom and headed over to the house.
He approached from behind, and heard a child laughing from the garden. A bit surprised at the thought that Pansy was there, he still steered in that direction - if it wasn't Pansy it was probably one of her elves, so he or she or it or whatever could probably let him into the house and guide him to Pansy.
Flying over the hedge around the garden he pulled in for a landing, his eyes widening in surprise when he saw Harry playing with Polly.
'Oi, mate, what the fuck are you doing here?' he asked as he touched the ground, grinning at Harry, though he still wore a look of surprise on his face. 'I didn't even know you and Pansy knew each other.' Then again, knowing Harry's obsession with secrecy perhaps that shouldn't surprise him.
'So how long have you two been fucking?' he asked, approaching Harry and ruffling that gorgeous hair of his, not doubting for a second they were. Surely they were if she was letting him out into the garden with Polly like this, and it was the only reason he could think of for Harry not telling him they were friends.
