'Wouldn't that make the world a nicer place?' Pansy agreed. 'No ghastly ruffled robes with dodgy bits of lace in strange places. No old lady prints on young girls. No robes made like sacks....' She laughed. She could do such good in the world....
Pansy made a face, thinking it sounded like her friend was well and truly screwed. Much as she was beginning to think she was, herself.
She sighed. If she hadn't had Polly, what he was suggesting really was the best solution. But Cass wasn't comfortable around children, and Pansy was adamant that anyone she chose would not only be a stable thing in her daughter's life, but would love her as if she were his own.
And maybe rampant sex with everyone she came across was not a good example to set for Polly. Of course her daughter would do some exploration, but Pansy wanted her to be willing to recognize love if she found it and to cherish it. Not to sleep around in constant search of it.
She was going to have to think that idea through, she decided.
'Well,' she said. 'One of us went and get herself pregnant,' she pointed out. 'Not that I regret that now, of course. And if we were together, then your Weasley wouldn't have let you near him, it sounds like....'
'I do adore you, you know,' she said softly, touching his face. 'Always will....'
