Stephen knew this wasn't the end of the conversation. They probably wouldn't stop arguing until the day after this attack happened, but they were both too stubborn to let it go, especially because Stephen was convinced that they could truly help.
"I don't care about looking bad, and I know what happens and what she said. I'd like to know what you see us doing. I want a sense of what you expect," Stephen said. "I certainly don't want you to do it just to prove a point. It's never the best way to enjoy things."
He wrapped on arm around Adrian, kissing his forehead. "You didn't have to. You could have done what some other death eaters do. You could have killed indiscriminately. You could have killed Pansy, but you didn't. Sure you could have done things differently, but second guessing yourself isn't going to change anything."
