Terry chewed his lip, wondering about this Daniel bloke and if he could ever measure up to Ernie's first boyfriend. "I guess I should be grateful then," he said, far more confidently than he felt. "Otherwise we might not be here."
Ernie had said that Daniel had made it clear it had been just for fun, but Terry had to wonder if Ernie had fallen more deeply than that. Like he'd done, or thought he'd done, with Seamus. All his worries fell away though, as Ernie all but demanded that Terry not like Daniel more than Terry liked Ernie.
"I don't think there's a worry of that," he said, blushing. "I've never liked anyone as much as I like you." He blushed deeper red, not really having meant to admit that. But it was out now, and Ernie didn't seem to mind.
