Susan let him cling to her for a long while, even though she knew that there was plenty of work to be done. This was also part of her work, and Seamus was someone she had known for a long time.
She let her hand run along his hair, trying to calm him over this initial shock. When he finally seemed to pull himself together enough to pull away, she offered up a small smile. "No need for apologies."
"Is there anything you need? Do you need me to contact anyone? What about Cormac?" she remembered that he was good friends with the other Auror. "I think he might be working today."
Nodding, she wrote Kevin's name into her notebook and then turned her attention back to him. The whole place was a mess indeed. "Was this fire damage reported to the aurors before?"
"There will be a few other aurors coming soon. I don't know if they have any other questions, but is there anything else you can think of? I need you to just think hard. Anything at all could be important in our investigation."
"And we'll need to find a way to get into her papers." That was going to require them to hire a magical locks specialist, and probably forms to fill in and file with Percy. Her day was looking up and up every minute. Right now she'd rather deal with the dead body of a rather popular townsperson than have to ask Percy for anything special.
