Lettie could feel a headache rising with every thump of Liam's feet against the couch and only manners stopped her from telling him to stop it in rather coarse language. "Now darling, don't do that. Your aunt Margaret would be quite upset if you dirtied up the couch."
She almost sighed in dismay when Liam said Miles was working, forcing a smile onto her face instead because she didn't want him to cry. Crying meant watermarks on her silk or snot or... God, she didn't even want to think about it. "Well, what do you like to do when it's raining normally? Visit your friends?"
