"Hey, hey, it's okay," he said, trying to soothe and calm her down. He really should have thought about this better. The last thing he needed was for her to go and tell everyone that there were vampires in town.
"I just want someone to talk to -- that's all. I don't need anything else. I have a... place to stay, and they've even arranged for me to have what I need to eat, and I don't have to bite anyone."
"I didn't ask for this," he said, sounding like the wronged victim.
He didn't want to think of her family, but then she said a name that sent a shiver down his spine. So Jander was trying his charms on her too. He had his mouth half opened to tell her that Jander was a vampire too, but instead he turned his mouth up in a hopeful smile.
"Oh Jander? But I know him!" He looked hopeful. "He knows what I am, and he's an... acquaintance."
