Dennis wanted to laugh at her sweet innocence - at how easily he could play with their emotions. There was still something... not quite right about her scent, and he wracked his brain to think on why.
He looked up at her through his lashes, somewhat shyly, and tried to give her a grateful little smile. "Oh I don't think you could hurt me, but I could very easily harm you..."
Taking a step back for effect, and just in case she decided to do something like call the aurors, or Merlin, forbid, her brother, he played his true victim card.
"In the battle... the one in London, In Leicester Square..." His voice was choked with emotion. "Gabrielle, the vampires got me. They got me, and turned me and now I'm a freak and I hate it!" He was quite pleased with his performance, and thought if Jander was watching, he would at least find something he wouldn't criticise about it.
