Ernie smiled ruefully. "I think I'd have done very badly if not for the fact we went to the club. The manager had heard about my attack... the generalities, not the details... and I'm fairly certain he'd given orders that we were to be afforded a lot of space. We seemed to have the most discreet waiters serving us the whole night."
He chuckled. "Well, we both relaxed last night. We had a lot of fun on our not-date that turned into a date."
