Harry’s attempt at humor wasn’t funny to Pansy, but that he was trying to make her feel better about it all didn’t go unnoticed or unappreciated. She gave him a weak smile. ‘Definitely,’ she said in response, making the effort at least.
‘Well, they need to stop it!’ Pansy retorted. She was enjoying babyhood! Polly would just have to slow her growth and development down to accommodate her mother, she decided.
Although outgrowing her clothes wasn’t such a bad thing. It meant more shopping, and she’d seen some very cute things at the Muggle store before Harry had dragged her away.
Pursing her lips, she told Harry, ‘Oh, thanks….’ Big help he was!
But he had tried to make her feel better and to make all of this easier to bear. ‘I’m sorry,’ she said. ‘I do appreciate all your help,’ she added, giving him a shy smile. Even if she did have to let him wear denims around the house. At least no one else saw him there in them!
‘But if she gets sick from eating dirt, John and the Professor are both in big trouble!’ she added direly as she summoned some parchment for her answer.
‘Oh, he sent books, too. They’re Muggle, but he said they were helpful….’ she told Harry. ‘You won’t tell Gr—Hermione that I’m studying them, will you? I do have a reputation to uphold….’
