He gave up on the idea of attacking her outright again. Well, at least for now. Perhaps there was something in this 'gaining trust' thing. HEecould sense he had reached out and garnered her sympathy.
"Um, sorry," he said in his most non threatening voice. "I can smell it in the blood, and I can hear two heartbeats. I can't... I can't seem to avoid hearing it. I hear heartbeats everywhere." And they are soooo good. I love how they speed up just as I sink my fangs...
"I didn't mean to threaten - I just..." He sounded exasperated as he tried to finish off his drink.
He listened to what she said and tried to show his own understanding. "Not too many people are willing to help those like us," which was true. "You're a good person, Hestia." and even though it's cold, your blood tastes so sweet.
He snorted when she mentioned a blood drive. "I'll take donations, if you like." He said it in a very non-threatening way, a wry little smile on his face. Sometimes, when he'd fed well enough, and when he was staying awake too long after sunrise, he'd look and sound very much like the Dennis of old.
