Severus snorted with amusement. "I am sure she does."
He nodded. "As I said, it is not something to use lightly. I shall speak to Poppy about it and tell I have made the offer. She knows I have used it in the past."
He arched an eyebrow. "No, he hasn't. I gather this has something to do with the idea he came up with while in Rodolphus' hands? Certainly the work he did disrupting the manor wards was creative. I shall be interested to hear what he has to say."
He grimaced and sighed with exasperation at the mention of his son. "He dislikes it. I am aware of what has him so upset with the students but there is little I can do unless they make those comments in my hearing." He snorted. "I believe most of them are unaware that I know what is being said but the portraits and ghosts have always been helpful."
Especially the Bloody Baron, who liked him for some reason. The Baron had taken to staring grimly at those students who were being particularly offensive, which he understood was quite effective in shutting them up.
He drew a weary hand down his face. "I mostly dislike the fact that some of what they are saying is perilously close to the truth. They do not know that but I do. It is not something I like to be reminded of. But then, who does like being reminded of their foolishness?"
