Rodolphus had arrived from Forter Castle to be told that Lucius had come by twice while he'd been absent. He hoped his old friend wasn't too upset by his absence but he did have good cause. He settled into his study and gave a rueful laugh at the sight of the paperwork that had appeared on his desk while he'd been gone.
He shook his head and started going through it, sorting what was important from what could be left for now. He was still in the middle of doing that when a house elf popped in and told him that Lucius was on his way.
He dismissed the creature and rose, wincing a little as his knee protested. He'd spent far too much time standing and pacing last night and his knee had always disliked the winter. He moved as smoothly as possible around his desk and was waiting in font of it when Lucius arrived.
"Lucius, welcome. Please have a seat. Can I get you anything to drink?" He gestured towards the armchair in front of the fire and limped over to the credenza. If nothing he else, he could do with a drink. "Everything is very well. My godson, Theodore, asked me to come around last night. He needed someone to stop him from flying off the handle as his wife gave birth. I only got home a short while ago."
He gave Lucius a small, very pleased smile. "They have a new son, Nathaniel Narayana Nott."
