'There is no way I'm handing him back to her!' Cass said, not even thinking about the consequences for himself for once. When he realised what he was saying he nearly groaned himself. He stood up, pacing the floor, running his hand through his hair.
'Look, I know I never wanted to be a father, and I certainly know I'm probably not cut out to be one, but I can't leave him with a mother who can't be bothered with him. Even I would do better than that!' He sighed, returning to his seat again, not able to decide if he wanted to sit or pace or do neither.
